A bit of another view into settings for the game from a Twitcher that I've followed over from YT, great guy omho, goes onto detail as to what and why.

Not forgetting he's got a good spec pc and his settings are not what you would think, as are most of the top players .

PUBG twitter has announced a new patch next week, set to go to test server 2 days prior to release, FPP leaderboards! new weapon, and foggy map should be interesting for sniping

"Some of the key features of the new build include a new weapon, foggy weather condition, FPP leaderboards and multiple bug fixes."

And this sort of thing really bugs me.  Why do games designers, and hardware manufacturers put so much effort into getting things to look good, only for players to intentionally turn stuff off so they get an advantage?  Reviews all talk about how good it looks and the effects that are displayed, but if you want to win you turn it off.  BF1 I had real problems seeing the enemy player with everything on (yet my 980Ti should have easily coped), but turn it off and the game looked crap (and thus less enjoyable), but at least I could see death staring me in the face.

Gaming on PC isn't a level playing field simply due to differences in the hardware, but add in that people downgrade their output and it's even sillier.

Perhaps games should be that only have an "auto" setting.  Therefore dependent on the hardware, the more you see, which evens out the slower hardware that would struggle on fps even if stuff is off.

I know what you're saying but lets not forget that the game is still not optimised and is still early access, iirc I've read recently that they have done something to the gfx so as to eliminate the foliage issue with turn down the setting so that it does render in, it would be different altogether if the game was a finished release, then I would understand the frustration, tbh, it does make a difference but NOT that much to the average Joe

Looking at the release notes, and omfgg, the Tommy Gun is now spawn loot and not crate loot, that and the mini 14 dmr, also a bunch of tweaks inc shadows and foliage etc :) still only on the test servers atm though

BIG EDIT: completely forgot, a whole new town East of Stalber ;D

Finally cracked the EU ranking sub 100K  for duo and solo, the fog map has almost taken care of the snipers, not sure whether that's good or bad  considering that the new weapon is a DMR ? ish gun, a few Twitchers are favouring it over the Kar98 ?

I have over £100 pounds worth of PUBG merchandise, most bought cheaply or using PB points, atm the prices are going up steadily, what do you think, hang on to them, sell them, do you think they will have a ceiling price or will carry on growing, a dilemma, then there is the case of what to do with the cash as it's not transferable back to the real world so what to buy if I sell ?

Why do you all get so excited over a chicken dinner.  KFC is on every high street corner.  Now if it was a T bone steak .....
