Slow iPod Synchs

Okay, got a 32gig iPod Touch which has always been great. But, last couple of synch's its taken about 40mins (ish) to synch. Seems to be the backup part. Anyone seen anything similar ?

I'm thinking AV now scanning it, or maybe USB2 slot ?

Before I google and spend ages trawling sites and trying things I'd thought I'd check with you 'orrible lot.

It's not backing up / copying all the files each time is it ?

No, it works.......eventually. It used to back up all the time anyway. Only updates are copied or changes made.

Still the same on another USB port. The music transfer is fine, its just the backup first. So, anyone know how to turn off external device scanning in Avast ?

I'll put this in here.......
How do I get the mewling, puking piece of sh*t abomonation that is iTunes to convert/add to library a windows media video file?
I have tried to "add file to library" but it doesn't do it......wtf? Is there a special trick to this?

Not sure if you have to convert it first

after ishite deleted all my d/led ringtones last night, I'm going to try and d/l again tonight, lets see if I manage to wipe my music........................

itunes converts mp3s automatically, so why not mp4s?

damn, I should have thought of that one, I use the psp version to convert stuff to psp format

Ah......that was the software I found myself but didn't want to d/l.........now that you have recommended it I have d/l'd it and am running it........cheers
