NTHW Launches BF3 Close Quarters
« on: 11 June 2012, 09:49: PM »
NTHellWorld are pleased to add a new game server to our line-up for Battlefield 3 Close Quarters.  Our server will have 20 slots and initially run a mixed map and gametype rotation in hardcore mode.  Just search for NTHW in Battlelog ;)

Close Quarters is an Expansion Pack for Battlefield 3.  It will become available as a standalone download purchase in a fortnight.  Meanwhile, for those with deeper pockets who purchased DICE's new Premium player package, Close Quarters should become live on PC on the 12th June.

There are four new maps in Close Quarters: Scrapmetal, Operation 925, Donya Fotress and Ziba Tower.  Each map has four gametypes: TeamDeathMatch, Domination, SquadDeathMatch and Gunmaster.  The maps are more compact than the standard BF3 and should produce a lot of carnage.  Although the gameplay is designed for a maximum of 16 players we have presumed that like many of the other BF3 gametypes they can support a few more, hence our choice for a 20 slot server.

As always we will guard against cheats by streaming with PBBans in addition to using the standard punkbuster protection for ranked servers.

Someone needs to explain Premium to me.  Why pay if I already have one pack?  Karkand.

There are a further four packs and you can bet they will be more than a tenner each. So it will save money in the long run.

Aside from that there is the early access and a couple of exclusive weapons stuff/ thingy for premium users.

Me, I am still unsure if I'm going to invest any more cash in games at all.

We shall see.

I may be able to squeeze in 1/2 an hour at lunchtime (sometime between 12 and 1:30) - but no TS as my headset is at home - and anyway, I'd look a bit daft in the office as everyone would think I am talking to myself :D

I am supposed to be a senior member of staff, so I have a certain responsibility to set a good example to the youngsters  :D
I'll have to ask the MD for my own private office - I can cite a few good reasons for it too - mostly to do with the general noise levels in the main office here affecting my concentration  >:( :D

btw the Close Quarters maps download is and extra 2.7GB (2825MB), so it wasn't included in the last patch...

:wtf:  5:00pm on a weekday.  6 of you already on the server and 8 in Teamspeak.  I thought we were an adult clan with not a load of kiddies who go on line as soon as they get in from the school playground.  Don't any of you have proper jobs?
