The 2013/2014 Football Season
« on: 20 May 2013, 02:07: PM »
Guess we'd better start a new tread for al the hype and transfers that will no doubt start soon.
I'll look back this time next year and see if my predictions have been correct:

- Coventry to play at Walsall
- Martinez to manage Everton
- Man Utd to finish 2nd (Man City 1st)
- West Brom, Fulham, Sunderland and Stoke to all struggle
- First manager to go will be Tony Pullis
- Wayne Rooney to be at Chelsea

I think it will be like this at the top

1st Man United
2nd Chelsea
3rd Arsenal
4th Man City
5th Tottenham
6th Liverpool

I think Ronaldo will not come back to Utd.

I think Rooney will go to PSG.

I think Ferdinand will retire at the end of the season.

I think Giggs will retire also at the end of the season.

I think the 1st manager to go will be Benitez

I seriously doubt United will be top next season. Historically new managers never win there first season at there new clubs

Should I start a 2039/40 season thread to see who will replace Moyes in 26yrs time?

Please God no.

Even worrying about next year, when some stuff of this year hasn't concluded is bad enough.  Just as the players get a couple of months rest (not long enough really), shouldn't everyone else take a break too?

It's an interesting question though isn't it?
If Manu finish in the top 3 it proves that SAF was not some sort of godlike figure and that ultimately if you spend hundreds of millions over a long enough period you will buy success, but if they don't then people should finally start to seriously consider whether you can buy success without providing the stability of a long term manager and a couple of key players to back it up. A question I suspect that most neutral fans rather than SAF or Manu apologists are awaiting the outcome of.

So, we're still in admin, don't know where we're playing next season, can't sell tickets yet, can't sell the new kit and there is probably going to be less than 2,000 wherever we play.

Sad times.

I would hope there's a lot more than that mate, surely your core support alone is much higher. We still had attendances of 20ish K when we were in the 3rd division, and we've got the Tigers, the riders, the cricket and the Speedway going on in the City, micky taking aside for a minute Coventry isn't that diverse in its sporting entertainment, surely the fan base can't be that diluted.

It's the general feeling ATM though Stu, and if they play away then I can see fans boycotting. There is already a movement for this.

Hopefully not mate,

Despite local inter city rivalry I'd like to think more of Coventry fans than that they would abandon the club because they've had to move out, that's not the action of a real football fan and surely by now the steady decline of the last few years has left you with a really hardcore fan base rather than the poncy glory hunters who have polluted the game for years assisting Sky in their efforts to make football a TV spectacular rather than a Saturday afternoon out with several thousand like minded souls.

So, we're playing at Sixfields at the moment, and although attendances are low, they have crept up game on game and my guess is that they will continue to do so whilst we're playing quite well.

Aside from those troubles, if we keep scoring goals then we'll be in positive points asap and can start climbing the league.  We are the league top scorers and it took us 15 games last season to score as many as we have now after 4.  Pressley has got the kids playing really well, and in Callum Wilson he seems to have a great prospect.

Typical Utd vs Liverpool match.

Biassed ref and racist comments from the crowd.

Someone remind me I watch these over paid ballerinas.
